About Layne

Seahorse Massage came about though three things. First was the horses. When working on the east coast show circuit, back in the 90’s, she experienced first hand what equine massage could do for these animal athletes. It was amazing. And so the goal was set. Secondly, Layne was involved in a life changing car accident that left her searching for a way to heal her body, and calm her mind. So, massage school entered the picture. And thirdly, being in nature, surrounded by the ocean, and working her lobsterboat, has always been an important part of the healing and groundedness that can happen when surrounded by the natural world.

Every therapeutic massage begins with a one on one consultation to evaluate your specific needs. Therapeutic massage is focused on treating specific musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, or limited mobility with the goal of facilitating healing and pain relief. Gentle mobilization of soft tissue helps to decrease pain, induce relaxation, and promote calmness, and well being.
All massages include hot towels, high quality essential oils and salves, and meditational music geared for relaxation and stress relief.
Targeted massages are good for focusing one or two specific “trouble” areas. Hour massages are good for an all over massage, integrating the whole body. 90 minute massages are a nice combination of the two depending on each individual’s needs.

Layne Bliss

Layne has been massaging since 2007 after graduating from the Downeast School of Massage, with a concentration in the mind and body connection.
She continues to take Continuing Ed classes in various modalities. This runs the gamut from deep tissue and facial release techniques for specific areas, to the lighter touch therapies such as lymphatic drainage.
